JMP15 Recode Script

Hello All,

 

It's me again  

happen to find recode script generate by JMP15 seems doesn't work on JMP14 , while recode script generate by JMP14 works well in JMP15 

could understand this might be because of script compatible downwords But Not upwords, 

Just want to confirm my understanding with seniors, thanks

Particularly with new features, we don't guarantee backward compatibility (something in 15 working in 14).  In this case, they use different structures - note that there is a command in the 15 script called "Recode Column" while the script from 14 is just using a formula in a For Each Row Loop.  14 probably doesn't know what that Recode Column command does.

Hi Pin,

Here's a little background on why the recode scripts were changed in JMP 15. In JMP 14, the recode scripts were not very efficient. One issue was that if a recode script was applied to new data, and the data values were different, these values were not recoded. In JMP 15, the Recode platform was reworked to be more flexible. We also added new JSL commands in JMP 15 (like Recode Column) and changed how the recode steps are captured in scripts. The JMP 15 scripts are more efficient, and these scripts work well they are run on new data.
