Description: AGS visit to EBC
- Completed: Applied Global Services EBC Visit (This Mon 8/10 & Tues 8/11) (Cary)
- Overall:
- Some frustrations early, but got better on the second day
- Special thanks for hard work done by Dan V., Stan K and Byron W. in helping to prepare and deliver demos EVB visit.
- Impression:
- Currently AMAT has a hero mentality
- Lots of gains to be made on the product development side
- Want our help, but not too mature in terms of capability and analytic maturity
- Their project is a skunk works and may not have power to get it easily adopted
- We did get a good understanding of their business pain…especially around need to improve reliability
- Improve reliability (get out of the break and fix model) - Like GE in building up a high quality and premium service business
- Know the buzz words, but wanting someone to help provide resources and develop the total solution (including services) for him
- Benefit:
- Accelerated our demo positioning and examples for how JMP can work with the Hadoop environment
- Possible to use these same learnings at other customers (might be similar situation at Corning and Samsung in future)
- Next Steps:
- Visit being set up for late September for Brady to meet directly with Sandeep and the Program Manager
- Come out to their side and come out and meet with the Project Manager to get a proof of concept (query builder and charts) - Brady to take lead
- With a little guidance from Chris Olsen to get rough prototype (get data, clean it, analyze/graph it, report it)
- Then get feedback from the team and if works well…hand off the Predictum (Wayne)
