<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Hi all,
Minitab just release a new product called Devize that has Monte Carlo simulation (something that has been in JMP since I have been using JMP). I have attached a couple links with information
http://www.minitab.com/en-us/products/devize/
http://www.prweb.com/releases/2015/devize/prweb12457618.htm
One of our bigger customers mentioned it today. If anyone has any insight into how JMP compares to Devize I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
Pete
Thanks for looking into this Chris and thanks Dan for updating the competitive documentation. One feature they have in Devize that looks nice is they can recommend a distribution for one of your factors on the fly. This might be nice to put into the prediction profiler.
Thanks, Martin. Yes we will update it.
May we could add that part to the Minitab cometitive document as further Information. Even if it is a seperate product it is important to know that Minitab has something similar to the profiler.
Martin
A little further look into Devize revealed that they have less distribution options for the Simulation part.

Hi Pete,
Looks like a play on our Prediction Profiler functionality. The Simulator does very much the same thing except it appear in model building so you don’t have to know the equation upfront. But they do have a slick interface and I think the graphics are larger and a little more interactive as far as the histogram based on their website. Also, it looks like the optimization interface is a little more easy to use than our maximize desirability function within the profiler, but not sure about the constraints as to how one would set them up with Devize
It is a separate product and not integrated with Minitab as far as I can tell.
There are some other neat features as well with the Prediction Profiler like linking profilers and copying settings so that one can minimize failures on one profiler and maximize say yield in another with the same Xs. Also, one can add a noise factor in the Prediction Profiler Dialog to help be a bit more robust in the optimization and simulation.
My guess is that they are going to appear to be easier to use, setup, and interpret with more output options like ppk and optimization around other parameters other than that defined by Y. But without playing with it myself, hard to say which will be more powerful in terms of utility.
