HTTP Request for Patent Database API

Hi,

A customer asked me about connecting to an API for a patent database with JMP 14. Not really my area of expertise.

If anyone else is motivated it would be great to give the customer some pointers to getting started with this. They have already tried following some of the JMP examples but couldn't translate it to this example.

I'd also suggest they post the inquiry to the Discussions forum. Maybe some JMP user out there will be inspired to help.

Though, it looks like a subscription for PatBase is required, and that may be a deterrent to crowdsourcing (or even JMPsourcing) this.

Can you share some additional details regarding--

What is the customer's experience with script writing? Are they an analyst just needing access to the patent data?
What have they tried?
What worked? What did not work?
Can you be more specific in which JMP examples they have tried and what did not translate for them?
Do they have a test account (username and password) that I can use to get them started?
