A page's Title, Name, h1 and Meta Description all need to work in concert with each other to help boost searchability.
Page Name
- Appears as part of the page URL
- Should be all lowercase with hyphens to separate words.
- On-demand assets should NOT have a date in the page name.
Page Title
- Appears in the browser tab.
- Should almost always match a page’s h1.
- Should be as descriptive as possible (and yet also as concise as possible).
h1 (heading 1)
- Should appear toward the top of the body of the page.
- It should almost always simply be the title of the asset itself.
Meta description
- This is the description that search engines will display on their listing pages (e.g. google.com).
- It should be a concise summary of the contents of the page written for the benefit of site users.
- AEM allows 320 characters (180 for Chinese, Korean and Japanese).
