<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Hi JMP SE community and others,
For those of you who will be in Cary, NC next week for Kickoff, we have a little pre-kickoff work for you to do. Basically, install a database so you are able to use Query Builder on your own computers with an example dataset!
Here are the instructions for installing Microsoft SQL Express server with an example database that we will use for Query Builder training next week.
Eric Hill created and SQL Server 2014 Express installation script with tips for if you are remote using VPN. He has also made the database backup file available from OneDrive. Here is the link with the instructions:
http://sww.sas.com/~sasewh/SQLServerExpress.html
You will need to be connected via VPN or at a local SAS office to access the link. Please follow the instructions to install the appropriate bitness SQL Server (64-bit for 64-bit OS and 32-bit for 32-bit OS). This is an windows only SQL Server so Mac users will have to use Parallels to install. Also follow the instructions to download and install the example database.
I have included Eric Hill on this e-mail if you run into problems and you can also contact me. The goal is to have everyone install the server component before next week and verify that it is working during a lunch session with Eric next week so he can show us how to make an ODBC connect through JMP and also verify that you can access the example database. I will then go through Query Builder with the example database the following data.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Happy New Year!
