Taking part in the JMP User Community is now even more fun! We know you have always been motivated to Share. Ask. Learn. Connect. with your extended JMP family. Now we want to recognize and reward you even more for that by issuing meaningful challenges and awarding new badges.
How does it work?
You earn points for completing certain challenges, but we are not just assigning points and handing out badges. We have designed community experiences that produce real value, such as building new JMP skills, boosting productivity with time savers, increasing the amount of available shared JMP resources, and building mutually beneficial professional relationships. We hope they will motivate you to push the boundaries in your analytic processes using JMP.
What are some new ways to earn points?
There are lots of new opportunities to gain points. Complete your profile to score a quick 10 points. Ask a question, and you just earned another 10 points. Answer a question for 10 more points. See how easy it is to earn points? Jump ahead to the section below on earning points for more details. Our multimedia manager Ryan DeWitt designed some very cool-looking badges for you. Follow Ryan to earn another point. (Sorry, Ryan! Following you or anyone else only earns you one point )
What can I do with all these points that I earned?
For starters, you gain the respect of your fellow community members, in addition to having bragging rights in your office and possibly even all the way down the hallway. How do I know how many points I have earned?
Stay tuned...a video is being developed to provide an overview and more details
What happens to the points I have earned already?
The points you earned are yours to keep. Some community members may notice a slight increases or decreases in their point totals as we tried to weight them to allow everyone to continue earning points equitably in the new system.
What if I'm not interested in earning points and badges?
Rest assured that if you have no interest in participating, you will still have a great experience in the community. There's no penalty for not participating. For many people, adding a "game" element encourages participation and connection with others in the community. Plus, it enables the community to recognize achievement and sharing of expertise.
Check back often to learn more about upcoming challenges. We hope you enjoy the new challenges that await you as much as we have enjoyed creating them.
