Version two has the ability to add a background image that can be used to replicate the data by tracing on the image.  See the attached video for a quick demonstration of this feature.

Click Graph is a jmpaddin for generating an arbitrary graph by mouse-clicking on a graph canvas.  Each click of the mouse generates a new point for the graph.  These points are captured in an output table.  A smoother function is enabled to connect the points and smooth the graph.  A button is provided to generate a 1000-point extrapolation of the graph using the smoother function.

Hyde and Martin,

Indeed, that is a primary use case... you see an image of a graph in a doc, but no data is provided, and you'd like to have the data to play with. If you approach it properly you can also use this to get 5-number summaries from a bunch of boxplots and barcharts, stacked bar charts, etc.

You don't have to add a button to get the graph into the frame (although you certainly could do this); you can simply drag an image or file into the framebox. You will need to rescale it to fit properly, then register 2 points to provide location and scale.

The data table tools addin (here on the community) has a tool that does all of this. It doesn't have a button for the spline smoother, so if you want the spline/interpolation piece you'd have to do that post hoc.

Hyde, I don't plan on modifying my addin to add a spline smoother, so if you're interested in adding the image support to your present addin, feel free to use/modify the code I've got, so you don't have to re-invent the wheel.

Nice, can you add a button to import an image into the background of the graph window? Why? Because it would be a nice way creating values of a function based on an image of a profile/curve e.g. in an pdf report. Just get the image, save it  and then use your add-in to have a profile (like your cubic curve) you can add points on it and then interpolate to generate a spline matching the image function.
