German VDA(like AIAG)'s MSA MethodHi,
Many Korean auto suppiers including LG Electronics, they are doing business
with European auto companies. And Korean supplier are requested to use
VDA's MSA method. We think that JMP need to support VDA's MSA method.
Could we include this in JMP New version ? if not, Is there any other solution like add-in ?

Thanks

Re: German VDA(like AIAG)'s MSA MethodHi Mia,
We can do Type3 analysis in a way not to choose operator variables from the execution window.
So no additional development work will be required.
Thanks
Ikju
* Reference : Minitab Plus Package's VDA5 Window is as follows

Re: German VDA(like AIAG)'s MSA MethodWe've been looking into Type 3 Gage studies. According to the developer, "it looks like "Type 3" is something we can already do. It's a Gauge R&R study with only parts and no grouping variables (operators)."
Is it safe to conclude that no additional development work is required for Type 3? Or, is there something missing in JMP that we should consider adding?
Thank you for your input,
Mia
Re: German VDA(like AIAG)'s MSA MethodHi Mia,
My thoughts are same. Our customers said that they've mainly been using Type1 until now but the importance of Type3 is increasing. Perhaps, it is due to the influence of automated measuring equipment as Martin said.
I think that both Type1 and Type3 are required features.
Korean companies are using Q-DAS and/or Minitab to correspond to VDA5
Minitab's Korean Agent developed a VDA support module in 2020 under the name of Minitab Plus Package(like add-in)
and is providing it to customers free of charge.

Re: German VDA(like AIAG)'s MSA MethodHi Mia,
mine is for Type-1 mainly. There I have had about 5 customers asking it for long time already and some others where we did not manage to enter due to a heavy Minitab base where this was used as a big argument for them. Type 3 I just had very few requests so far and I honestly do not remember who asked for it. But I understand there will be more as more and more gets automated.

Re: German VDA(like AIAG)'s MSA MethodHello Mia,
i think that VDA's MSA Method need to be adopted in JMP.
Anyway, I will feedback early next week after recheck
Thanks
Re: German VDA(like AIAG)'s MSA Method@IkjuShin and @martindemel , do you have a lot of requests for Type 3 Gage R&R, or is the request primarily for Type 1 Gage R&R?
We're taking a look at adding Type 1 in JMP 17, but we haven't seen a lot of requests for Type 3. If you have specific requests and named customers, please add to this thread.
Thanks!
Mia
Re: German VDA(like AIAG)'s MSA MethodThank you, Mia,
Minitab are releasing 'Minitab Plus Package'. The package covers VDA5. Some Macro, Levey Jenning Chart, Mahalanobis Distance etc. But I didn't check detailed contents until yet
Thanks
Re: German VDA(like AIAG)'s MSA MethodHi IkJu,
A Type 1 Gage study is just a capability study with one gage, one operator, and one standard, to determine if an MSA is needed. The analysis is pretty straightforward - you can do a hypothesis test (for bias from the true, standard value) and capability analysis in Dist to produce these results. The capability indices, Cg and Cgk, are really just Cp and Cpk.
There are a couple of requests for this: http://sww.sas.com/defects/java/iDefects/WebClient.html?&defectid=S1365843
And, there's an add-in: https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-Add-Ins/MSA-type-1/ta-p/41115
You can send to support@jmp.com with customer names and ask that this information be added to the existing defect. Or, if you'd like further discussion to see if other customers have similar requests please post on the internal wish list.
Re: German VDA(like AIAG)'s MSA MethodMinitab seems to adopt this function.
