<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Here is a script showing how to create an animated GIF with a local data filter.
The script will:
- open a data table
- create a graph with Graph Builder
- add a local data filter
- loop through the data filter
- capture each frame while looping
- save the frames as an animated GIF
The script does include a hard coded directory and filename so be sure to change that for your own use. You may have a better way of cycling through the local data filter.
IMPORTANT: This script requires image functionality that was added in version 13.0. Functionality was added to support multi-frame images, for GIF and TIFF formats in particular. This script will not work with earlier versions of JMP, at least not the part where it stores multiple frames. Earlier versions of JMP will produce a GIF with only one frame (the last one).
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for improvement.
Update (July 20, 2016): Using the Image Analyzer I discovered a blank (white) frame at the beginning of the animated GIF. I updated the script to remove that frame before saving the image.
