We've decided to update the book JMP Start Statistics for JMP 13 - this will happen this fall, and the new book should be available by the start of 2017. The 5th edition is based on JMP 10, and we decided that the menus, screenshots, and formula editor need updating sooner rather than later. We will not, for the most part, develop new content (outside of the formula editor chapter), and the new book will have the same TOC and overall content.
With this in mind, please let us know if you've come across any issues that need to be addressed (note that the 5th edition had a second printing, which addressed some typographical errors). We will try to stay true to John Sall's vision for the book, "to teach statistics to engineers and scientists who have JMP." This means that we haven't put emphasis on the "bells and whistles", only introducing things like Graph Builder and Tabulate when they fit into the broader picture.
