Column "check" property to validate character input?

Hi,

I'd like to have a character column property that checks input for conformance to a specified regex.

This would be akin to the "Range Check" and "List Check" properties, but you'd specify a regex and the column would validate attempted cell input for matching to the regex.

I can imagine that this could be easily scripted, but I've never scripted JMP before. Can anybody point me in the direction of a helpful starting point?
