I would like to use the Recode grouping functionality on Date columns

As the title states, I would like to use the Recode grouping functionality on Date columns. I'm often wanting to group single dates into fiscal year attributes (FY16Q1, for example), and while I can accomplish the same thing with a formula, it would be a lot more convenient to be able to do this in a Recode operation.

Am I missing a simple way to access this functionality within Recode, or should I open a feature request?

You can get some of the functionality you want by changing the format of you date columns to yyyyQq,  But it is not a total solution.  So I suggest that you put in a feature request to:

     support@jmp.com
