Does JMP provide cg/cgk statistics?<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Hi
a customer of miine (WIKA) currently testing JMP for process capability Analysis and others. They are Minitab users and we want to expand the usage from current 2 to 10 or more users in the next step. One of the testers asked a question about cg/cgk values. I couldn't find them in JMP nor in the documentation.
Here is the Analysis to replicate:
To get cg/cgk values one usually use the tolerance interval instead of upper and lower spec limit.
In his case he has to do a MSA- TYPE-1 study:
* one device under test and measures this single device 25 times.
* the true value is 16,0 (reference value)
* The tolerance is 0,016 (in Minitab he has to set tolerance as 0,032 which is USL-LSL)
The result is the Image above. Attached a jmp table with this dataset of 25 measures. I couldn't get the cg/cgk values.
Is there an easy way to get them (automatically or if necessary by Scripting)?

if you are interested in the solution, here it is:
There are different ways to do a type 1 study in JMP, although it isn't mentioned that way. You could use the Distribution Plattform or the JMP 12 Process Capability platform and for the control chart the Control Chart Builder.
The important thing is to et the limits right. You have to set them as +/- 0,1*tolerance for the upper and lower spec limit and the target value of course has to be specified. Having These spec Limits set the CP/CPK and PP/PPK values reflect the CG/CGK indicators.
Attached you find a Journal showing two case studies (credits to Laura for the first one (Gummi Bear), text is in German so far, it time allows I will translate). As well I've included a script asking for the measurement table (in Excel), asks for the spec Limits and runs all three possibilities to provide an overview of the different capabilities.

Thanks for sharing! This is exactly what I have wanted to look for.
I was first aware of Cgk by an engineer from Samsung Display yesterday.
He said that some of the engineers at his company were handling tasks for the customers. Bosch and BMW were required to submit the report periodically.
