Hi folks,
One of our customer(Dell Korea) asked the difference on the result in Sample size and Power between JMP8 and JMP14.
Question 1
He set the same condtion (Alpha=0.05, Proportion1=0.000207, Proportion2=0.000001, Two-sided, Null Difference in Proportion=0, Power=0.8) and clicked ‘continue’ to get the sample size. However, it shows different results, ie, 38717 (from JMP14) vs 77060 (from JMP8). Please let me know what makes this big difference and the correct way to get a right sample size

Question 2
He intentionally input ‘0.000001’ into ‘Null Difference in Proportion’ in JMP8 and then, could get the same result from JMP14. In JMP8, is it required to key in ‘0.000001’ when Proportion2 is expected to be 0?

Hi Lou,
Thank you for your comment.
Nonetheless, I have some difficulty to understand Difference on the result in Sample size and Power between JMP8 and JMP14.
Maybe, I need to study more.
Thanks
Hi IkJu
I believe your question may be adressed in this blog by Brad Jones

PS The fact that the number was 2X the other made me think it was related to this blog
