Augment Design - Additional literature/Paper information?A customer asked if there is additional reference material like books or papers available (besides what is in the documentation) to know more about the algorithms and statistical background used for generating the new design points.
Do you know if there are any references describing this? I only found the statistical details for space filling augmentation.
Re: Augment Design - Additional literature/Paper information?Hi Martin,
As mentioned, it is indeed using the coordinate-exchange algorithm on the new rows.
The Goos & Jones book would be where I would point people to - the black box section of Section 3.3 gives a nice description, with some additional references in 3.4.
Cheers,
Ryan
Re: Augment Design - Additional literature/Paper information?I believe the coordinate exchange algorithm is used for both design and augmentation. Here's a link.
Re: Augment Design - Additional literature/Paper information?Probably the best resource would be the Goos & Jones Book or some of the papers related to it. I *think* the underlying algorithm for optimal and augmented designs (Brad can beat me up later if I’m wrong) is the Coordinate Exchange Algorithm referenced at the end of Chapter 4 of the JMP DOE guide. I also think there’s a simulation of what it does floating around somewhere. Someone else might chime in if they have a copy.
