<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Update (20July2015):
Rev 1of the Journal Text Sledgehammer is posted below, and includes these enhancements to the original:
- Support for formatting background colors.
- Support for formatting Outline Boxes, as well as Text Boxes.
- Ability to import settings of currently selected text.
There is now a "Utilities" tab which includes these features:
- Journal Packager: Place journal, modified with local file links, and all supporting files in a single folder.
- Unify Paths: Makes all paths in the journal point to the same place.
- Slides into Journal: Place image files into the journal as slides (good for including .pptx slides)
- Text into Journal: Quickly and easily create textbooks, outline boxes, or a hierarchy of both.
- Text from Journal: Get all of the text (and the type of container from which each portion comes) from the journal and place it in a data table.
- Column into Text: Place the contents of a datable column into text boxes.
- Scripts into Table: Place the name of each script button or link, and the script it contains, into a data table. Good for checking path consistency.
//// Original Post:
Attached is the Journal Text Sledgehammer (a tool for bulk formatting of TextEditBoxes within journals) as presented yesterday.
Here is a link to the recording in case you missed it:

To use:
- Open the Journal(s) you want to edit. If no journals are open, the program will inform you of this and terminate.
- Invoke the Sledgehammer.
- Make sure the journal you wish to edit is selected at the top of the Sledgehammer. As journals are added and deleted throughout the session, press the "refresh" button to update the list.
- Make selections with the Sledgehammer's controls to edit the journal's text properties.
- If nothing on the journal is selected, changes will be made to ALL TextEditBoxes in the journal, else changes will be made only to the selected part(s).
- Before you can use the "Apply All of the Above" button, you must make selections in all of the ComboBoxes (dropdown menus.)
- Selecting an OutlineBox will cause in all of its TextEditBox descendants to be modified as the Sledgehammer is used.
Cheers,
Brady
