Categorical variable as co-variates in survival analysis

Is it possible to use categorical variables as covariates (or model effects) in parametric survival analysis?

Absolutely.  See the Model script in the VA Lung Cancer sample data table (Help > Sample Data > Reliability/Survival).  This script uses the Parametric Survival personality of Fit Model and has several categorical factors.
