Discovery Summit 2016 Registration Now Open
We will hold the conference in the Executive Briefing Center on SAS campus, Sept. 19-23. Please invite users and strategic prospects to join us.
Our keynote lineup includes John Sall, Tom Lange (retired R&D director from P&G), Chris Nachtsheim (DOE expert), and Randall Munroe (creator of the webcomic xkcd). In addition to pre- and post-conference training opportunities, attendees have the chance to go in-depth on specific topics during 90-minute tutorials with developers. Both training and tutorials are an additional cost.
Speaking of costs, please help us keep ours down. When we host Discovery in Cary, it is much more accessible to the majority of our staff. Do not register through the website. Those who have a business reason and manager approval to attend will receive an invitation to register sometime this summer.
Direct your customers and prospects to www.jmp.com/summit to register.

Happy 4th Anniversary to Analytically Speaking
Did you know?
- A new Analytically Speaking webcast is produced each month featuring one of our six application areas. Yes, that's 46 hours of great content to share since the program's inception in 2012!
- Analytically Speaking is the longest-running webcast series that Building V has ever produced for SAS.
- We've traveled around the globe to interview the experts we believe our viewers are most interested in seeing (thanks to SAS Heidelberg, SAS Marlow, Yale University and Duke University for their studios and collaboration!).
- In addition to all our interviews in English, we have interviews in German and Chinese.
- We continue to offer a great line-up of experts to draw in brand new prospects for you for all of 2016.
In case you missed it, April's interview is now available on-demand featuring Christine Anderson-Cook of Los Alamos National Laboratory. As a research scientist, she's worked and written extensively on decision making with multiple, often competing, objectives. In this webcast, she gives suggestions for objectively considering tradeoffs, including graphical methods for visualizing tradeoffs and practical strategies for increasing the impact of statistical results.

New JMP Explorers Web Event Featuring JMP Clinical
Live Streaming from Cambridge, MA
Wednesday, May 4, 9:45 am-noon ET
Want a great opportunity to showcase the benefits of JMP Clinical? Then don’t miss Modern Techniques in Clinical Trial Monitoring, a live-stream online seminar on May 4 from 9:45 a.m. to noon ET. Enrikas Vainorius and JMP’s Geoffrey Mann will explain how to modernize and transition your on-site clinical trial monitoring by using the latest methods in risk-based monitoring, central statistical monitoring and clinical oversight monitoring. These methods will improve and align your monitoring process with approaches that follow the recent guidance documents on risk-based monitoring created by the FDA and EMA.
Topics include:
- Risk-based monitoring that closely aligns risk indicators, thresholds and actions set forth by the TransCelerate methodology documents.
- Central statistical monitoring methods implemented by Richard Zink, as described in his recent book.
- The data quality and fraud detection methods that illustrate how to identify outlying patients and sites in a clinical trial.
Technically Speaking: Analytic Solutions to Real-World Problems

Each webcast provides a real-world example of how to overcome some of the most common challenges practitioners face with data collection, preparation and analysis. Upon registering for the webcast, each participant will receive a copy of the data set used in each example.

‘An Amazing Year’ So Far
During a divisionwide WebEx Tuesday, Jon Weisz reviewed the “really great results” of JMP sales for the first half of 2015. “We’re well on track to hit our division goals,” Jon said. But he warned that a “perfect storm” of pressures on global currencies means that the division must stay focused in the second half of 2015 to achieve the target of double-digit revenue growth. If you missed the presentation – or if you just want to revel in the good news – you can watch the recording now. You must be logged in to the SAS network to view the video.

Quality by Design at GSK
Do you have customers and prospects in the pharma sector? If so, you might want to point them to the customer story about GlaxoSmithKline. JMP is a cornerstone of GSK’s Quality by Design (QbD) process, which relies on statistical, analytical and risk-management methodology to assure quality in the design, development and manufacture of medications. QbD is increasingly important to the US Food & Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency as regulators examine applications for new drugs.
The GSK story is available online, in COSMOS and in the new JMP Foreword.

JMP Blog Reaches 1,000 Posts
On Wednesday, the JMP Blog achieved a milestone: 1,000 posts since its beginning in 2007 with the release of JMP 7. Only one other blog at SAS has had more posts, and that’s SAS Voices.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to the blog, making it a place for rich content and conversations about JMP, statistics, data exploration, data visualization, JSL and so much more.
The 1,000th post was by 2014 Blogger of the Year Ryan Lekivetz, who wrote about using a space filling design to explore data about his work commute. Ryan’s post represents the type of post that our readers like best: technical.
Curious about which technical posts have been most popular over the years? Read Arati Mejdal’s blog post to see the all-time Top 10.

Query Builder White Paper Now Available
This paper introduces Query Builder, a new feature in JMP that enables construction of simple or complex SQL queries – no coding required. Who will use it? Engineers who lack SQL training, database administrators, data scientists and IT professionals, who can now grant access to databases without fear that novice coders will compromise the infrastructure. What sets Query Builder in JMP apart from other database query tools is everything we know and love about JMP! Once users get access to the data and bring it into JMP, they can explore it, graph it, model it, make discoveries and share them with others. Send customers and prospects to the white paper registration page: http://j.mp/1A34bQQ
