Eliminate Dash

Question

I have a character column in my file consisting of five numerical digits, followed by a dash, followed by four more numerical digits.  For example, 00062-1234.  I need to eliminate the dash.  I also need to keep it character because I need to retain the leading zeros.  Can somebody help me out?  Thanks!

Import your file as normal.  JMP should automatically detect that column as a string.  After importing, create a new column with the formula:
Substitute( :Column 1, "-", "" )

":Column 1" is your column with the 00062-1234.
