JMP has a rich selection of customizations you can access from the preference’s window. It enables you to specify general and specific settings and then save those settings.
Preferences are located under File then Preferences on Windows and under JMP then Preferences on a Mac)
There are topic areas on the left that when selected offer us a suite of changes.
For example, under the general settings on the top, you can control whether or not you want to show the tip of the day at start up, how you want Excel files to open.
Here’s a favorite adjustment preference for me, what action to take after I exit JMP. Save the session automatically, never save or prompt you.
There are customizable settings for reports, graphs, general styles choices like color and line weight, table properties and then each individual platform can have its individual preferences. Perhaps you’d like certain statistics or graphical features to display each time you run an analysis.
It's best that you explore these options for each Platform yourself. If you find that you regularly tweak something in a particular platform this is where adjusting it will save you time.
You can also check for software updates and customize the top menu.
Do you want to share your Preferences? If so I’ve also linked resources below to share the preferences below with your colleagues or project partners.
So to a large extent, you can control the look and feel of JMP by setting Preferences (File > Preferences, or JMP > Preferences on a Mac).
Explore it now and save loads of time.
