JMP holding on to file

I have been using JSL to open and close files of varying formats (.csv and .xls mostly) and i have noticed that the close(dt, nosave) function doesn't release the edit lock on files i have closed. Even after I have closed JMP, the files often remain locked for editing/deletion.

Has anyone come across this problem. More importantly, does anyone know a solution?
