Distribution Histogram settings?I am currently trying to customize the settings for the histograms genereated through Distribution. My problem is that is that the range for each of my groups is variable so I want to use uniform scaling, but I also want to view them with a specific binning, and what happens is I can either have the bin of my choosing or have the graphs uniform.
Am I missing something or are those two things just not compatible?
This isn't a huge problem, I can get uniform, properly binned graphs through other means. I just find it frustrating that I can't get Distribution to do it since I like having it along side a few other things.
Re: Distribution Histogram settings?Here is one way of handling your issue. You can generate the histograms separately, and then put them into a single window and set the scales and the bin values independently
Names Default To Here( 1 );
dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Big Class.jmp" );
New Window( "The Distributions",
H List Box(
disF = Distribution(
Continuous Distribution( Column( :height ), Set Bin Width( 5 ) ),
Where( :sex == "F" )
);
disM = Distribution(
Continuous Distribution( Column( :height ), Set Bin Width( 5 ) ),
Where( :sex == "M" )
);
)
);
disF << Set Bin Width( 5 );
disM << Set Bin Width( 2 );
Report( disF )[AxisBox( 1 )] << Max( 65 ) << Min( 55 );
Report( disM )[AxisBox( 1 )] << Max( 65 ) << Min( 55 );
