I'm working with JMP 12.1 and it seems that saving my Journals results in a loss of custom legend settings, particularly my gradient settings. I'm generating a JMP Journal with tabs and scroll boxes such that multiple heat maps can be navigated through by our users. Everything looks great, until the journal is saved and closed. When opened up, it would appear that the gradient settings were stripped.
Example:
The maps (object "HeatMap") are written to a display box in the journal with the following code...
Dist1 << Append(
H List Box( SubDist1 = V List Box( mydis[Vcount * (i - 1) + j] << Report ), V List Box( HeatMap << Report ) )
);
They appear as customized below in the journal (I circled the legend to highlight the change)...

...after saving and re-opening the journal, I'm left with this...

I have considered writing these objects as images, and that may be my only option, but my users are looking for the freedom to customize the objects (color, size, scale, etc) so that they can copy and paste into other documents and presentations. Is there a way to retain these settings, or a better way to send the object to the Journal?
I reached out to support and they confirmed the issue exists in version 12.1, but has been fixed in version 13.
Thanks for reporting this - it will be fixed in a future release.
Upon further investigation, this appears to be a bug in JMP 12.1, unless someone can suggest otherwise. In my journal, when I click the down arrow on the embedded object to "Edit script", the N Labels( 11 ) is present so the embedded script is correct according to the originating JSL code used to generate it. If I right click on the legend in the embedded object, the Number of Levels shows 0. Oddly, it managed to retain the other settings like scale type and discrete colors, but somehow "forgets" to embed the N Labels setting.
