Within-subjects and between-subjects varianceI am trying to find within-subject and between subject p values. Using a oneway analysis of lactate by condition (condition A and condition
I can find a p value for between conditions (.0019). However, how do I find if the change in value within the same subject is significant? How do I do this with repeated measures?
Thank you,
Meg
Re: Within-subjects and between-subjects varianceThe between-subject variance is tested against the within-subject variance using the F ratio. The numerator and denominator estimate the same variance under the null hypothesis but the numerator includes an additional component (between-subject) under the alternative hypothesis leading to ratios greater than 1. There is no test for the within-subject variance. There is no denominator. It is assumed to be the random component.
