Script
In this demo, we’ll use Excel Import Wizard again that’s launched and available when we Open or drag in an Excel file in JMP.
I’ll open up the “TeamResults” Excel file available in JMP under Sample Data Library then located one folder up in the Import Data folder.
It’s on your computer with a JMP install, so you could also search for it.
After I launch the Excel Import Wizard I’ll locate and select the area in the wizard where it prompts “Column headers start on row.”
Then I’ll select row one in the preview and hit the “+” next to “Column headers start on row” to set it to row 1.
After that, I’ll select row 2 in preview and select “+” next to “Data starts on row.”
Then select OK. Under the Analyze menu I’ll launch the Tabulate platform.
I’ll drag Winnings to the Columns on top.
Then I’ll drag Member Name to the Rows on right. And finally I’ll select “Add aggregate statistics.”
Here we can view the Sum of all the winnings.
What are the total winnings of all the Members?
Steps:
Open up the “TeamResults” Excel file in the attached sample data in Resources on right. It’s also available in JMP under Sample Data Library then locate Import Data
Locate and select the area in the wizard where it prompts “Column headers start on row.”
Select row one in the preview and hit the “+” next to “Column headers start on row” to set it to row 1.
Select row 2 in preview and select “+” next to “Data starts on row.”
Select OK.
Under the Analyze select Tabulate.
Drag Winnings to the Columns on top.
Drag Member Name to the Rows on right.
Select Add aggregate statistics.
Note the Total of Winnings.
