Slider Box controlling X-axis time question..

Hi, can anyone show/modify my code below. I would like to place a Slider Box control below a Variability Chart controlling its x-axis time (:TIME). dateMin to dateMax is about 30 days and formatted as 01Mar2011 10:00AM style.

What I want to do is make the slider exclude or not display points that are less than the slider position. I thought about some sort of timeSelected variable, but how would I reference this as the current position of the slider? Any thoughts or something to get me started? The JMP Add Filter is not an option as it presents object issues when integrating with my chart...so I want to do the time filtering manually with some sort of Slider Box control. thx.. dj
