Fit a Line !<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Hello,
Please see the test.jmp file in attachment.
I want to fit a line on this data. Essentially I have 5 observations for 5 inputs.
Imputs are in column 1 and the 5 observations are in column 2 to 6.
Can some one please tell me how I can draw an XY line using the entire data.
Also I want to know the CIs at every level.
When I try to do a bivariate analysis, I get 5 differnet plots ?
Many Thanks
Re: Fit a Line !Look in the Red Triangle menu for the fitted line.

The "... Formula" options give you new columns in the data table calculating the intervals.
The "Confi..." options will show them on the graph.

Re: Fit a Line !Now thats what I calll an answer !
Jeff one more question: How can I calculate the Confidence Intervals at each level ?

Re: Fit a Line !Hi there,
I think you're looking for something like this.

If so, you need to use Tables->Stack to stack Columns 2 - 6 into a single column which you will use as your Y column in Fit Y by X. The resulting data table looks something like this.

Let us know if we've misunderstood your goal.

Re: Fit a Line !As stated, I don't understand what you are trying to do.
If you have 5 columns of response variables (Y), and one column of inputs (X), you should get 5 different lines fitted, one for each Y. But you state that's not what you want.
So I'm not understanding what you do want from this data.
By the way, normally we don't speak of "observations are in column 2 to 6" as the terminology normally used is that columns are "variables" and rows are "observations". Perhaps that's part of the confusion, your use of terminology doesn't match what I normally use (and what JMP normally uses)
