Adding Long Names to Variables<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />

When importing an SPSS.sav file, my variables show up with long names. I have created some new variables and I am trying to include some long names to make the variables easier to navigate but I am not seeing where this is possible. Can someone please point me towards the variable option that allows for this?

When you import a .SAV file JMP creates two column properties, SPSS Name and SPSS Label to hold the column name and column label from SPSS.

Are these the properties you're talking about?

If so, you can add these by hand in the Column Info dialog using the Column Properties menu and choosing Other....
