Is there a better way than nested lists to mimic tensors/ ndimensional arrays?

 

 

{{{1, 2}, 2, 3}, {2, 3, 4}}*{{{2, 4}, 1, 5}, {3, 4, 5}}

and is there a way to do matrix math in it?  For instance:

{{{[4 3, 2 1], 2}, 2, 3}, {2, 3, 4}}*{{{[1 2, 3 4], 4}, 1, 5}, {3, 4, 5}}

crashes with:

"expecting list or number"

 

 

 

Re: Tensorsassociative arrays are probably a better container for a stack of 2-D matrices. The matrix operators are for 1- and 2-D matrices.
