How can I recall previous analysis options?

Hello all:

One of my customer wants to recall previous analysis settings, but I couldn't find any solution for that.

Here's an example(data: Car Physical Data)

1. Do the distribution analysis on a data table.

2. Change some analysis options like changing display options or putting a mosaic plot.

3. Close the analysis window.

4. Re-do the distribution analysis same way but different variables - my customer wants to recall the previous analysis setting when he re-do the same analysis.

Please let me know if you have any solutions.

Hi, I think a solution to this would be to use variable parameterisation in application builder. There are a few steps to this. I don't know if we have any recorded material that covers this. Does anyone know?

Hi ,

The best thing to do is save the script to the data table. Under the red triangle, go to scripts, then choose save script to data table.

Once you save the script to the data table and then choose edit script you will have this

If you then substitute "Type" for "Country" in your script...

First of all, thanks for your kind reply to my question on JMP User Community.

I am currently in a project for the Amkor Technology which is one the biggest company in semiconductor packaging area in the world.

Our team have developed customized JMP add-in modules for the Amkor Engineers and researchers.

But Recently one of my client strongly complained about this: once they changed some analysis options such as turning on mosaic plots, it couldn’t be recalled.

We have tried to adapt some solutions, but couldn’t find right way yet.

Here’s some reasons why we are struggling:

Due to the large source data, we had to make some kind of summary tables using SAS.
JMP add-in which we developed displays the Summary tables displays first, and analysis shows up when a user click some rows.

Hard part: If a user changes some analysis options, all the changes are gone when the user click another row

And Here is an simple example than you can understand my situation:

The data is Alcohol in JMP Sample Library.

My client wants to keep or save his analysis option settings to use other variables.

I have not tried yet but I think you might be able to use the following to get the Oneway platform changes--

Your script recreates the built-in functionality of the Column Switcher.

The Column Switcher automatically handles any analysis options added to the platform.

To use the Column Switcher in your example is quite simple:

The results look like this:

Any analysis options that are added will be maintained as you change columns.

If there are reasons that you can't use the Column Switcher, please let us know.

It is possible, using your construction, to get the script for the modified analysis object and substitute into it for the newly chosen column. I'll try to post an example of that if needed.
