CORRELATIONHi
I have two columns with different number of samples one is milk collected from each single farm (Bulk) and the other one is the collection of different number of farms milk which could be 10 farm in one tank or 30 farm in the other tank(Load). I want to know how to get correlation between the Free fatty acid, fat,... content in these two groups of data bulk and load. Is this possible? As I have 93,967 load and 738,792 bulk. Any suggestions?
Re: CORRELATIONI believe that correlation is not possible in this case. Correlation requires pairs of observations. You can, though, compare the two kinds of milk to see if there is a difference in the mean value, though. First stack the two columns for one particular measure (e.g., free fatty acid) using Table > Stack. Name the data table as Free Fatty Acid and name the label column something like Source. You can then analyze the data using Analyze > Fit Y by X. Use Free Fatty Acid in the Y role and Source in the X role. Select the ANOVA command from the red triangle menu.
Re: CORRELATIONTo perform a correlation, there has to be a relationship between the two columns for each row. That is, row one's data for column Bulk has to be related to the data for row one's column Load.
From your description, it sounds like you just have two columns of data. If this is the case, no correlation can be calculated.
Re: CORRELATION@Alma1,
Have you looked at the Correlation function ? .
