Create SAS Files

I am brand new to SAS, apologies if this is the wrong forum for this question.

I have a SQL Server database and a web based tool that allows my users to create a custom query that filters the data in a particular table. Once they have finished creating a custom filter, I would like to be able to output a SAS file with the data they have selected.

What is the best way to accomplish this?

Not sure what the right place for this question, but you'll probably find more expertise in the SAS Data Step forum (http://support.sas.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=31).

My guess is that you'll want to save the filter and have SAS do an import from SQL using your filter.
