Mechanical and toxicology analysis of footwear and textiles

Hello,

I have a prospect who is interested by mechanical and toxicology analysis of footwear and textiles.

DoE and statistical models are the main statistical interests.. Furthermore, quality analysis in manufacturing of footwear interest him.

Any dataset, user story or advices in this domain will be useful for me!

Florence: Another thought for you that might also help? My experience working with textile companies (specifically companies such as W L Gore and Noble Biomaterials) while on the surface are textile, or fabric companies...at the heart of what they do is chemical process development and manufacturing. If you stop and ponder for a moment...virtually all fabrics are chemical based. Even the natural fabrics like cotton or wool. So when I work with these type companies I speak more in chemical terms with responses such as yield, impurities, and use x variables like pH, flow rates, raw material suppliers etc. I've had lots of good results treating my demos as really chemical process industry examples and case studies. One such relatively new one is the case study that I developed as a possible narrative in the Holistic DOE Explorer Guide event...but could easily be tailored for a demo too. It's Case 29 in the Technical Reference Library  "Antimicrobial Growth Inhibitor" so it might even resonate with the toxicology folks a bit?

While we don't have too much in the textile area dealing with modeling, we do have the following related data sets in the JMP Technical User Library.

C20 Textile Quality​ (Case from my apparel/textile past showing supplier quality performance...good for visualization and quality control. Might be good as an introductory demo.)  There is also a mixture design DOE in the JMP Sample Help Data called Yarn Elongation that might help with the experimentation.  Also the Tire Tread help data set might have some crossover reliability to perhaps shoe wear.  Hope this helps!
