Show formula1 behind confidence-intervals in JMP<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Hey guys
I'm relatively new in JMP, and was wondering if you could make JMP show which formulas it use, when constructing various confidence interval (both when working with linear regression and with simple populations)?
FX - When finding a 95% confidence interval for beta1 (let's assume it's height), can you get the correct formula IN your JMP output?. Which in this case would be

Re: Show formula1 behind confidence-intervals in JMPTo see an example of Jim's last point, try:
NamesDefaultToHere(1);
dt = Open("$SAMPLE_DATA/TireTread.jmp");
// Get the fitted formula for 'Abrasion' from RSM model
af = Column(dt, "Pred Formula ABRASION") << getFormula;
// Do the RSM fit for just 'Abrasion'
fm = dt << Fit Model(
Y( :ABRASION ),
Effects(
:SILICA & RS,
:SILANE & RS,
:SULFUR & RS,
:SILICA * :SILICA,
:SILANE * :SILICA,
:SILANE * :SILANE,
:SULFUR * :SILICA,
:SULFUR * :SILANE,
:SULFUR * :SULFUR
),
Personality( "Standard Least Squares" ),
Emphasis( "Effect Screening" ),
Run
);
// Add the formula to the report as a picture
Report(fm)[OutlineBox("Response ABRASION")] << Prepend(OutlineBox("Formula", ExprAsPicture(EvalExpr(af))));
Re: Show formula1 behind confidence-intervals in JMPThe displaying of the formulas will only be there, if options under the red triangles have such an option. However, all of the formulas used can be found in the documentation for the platforms. That documentation is available in JMP under Help==>Books.
If you need to display the formulas, you can use scripting to add the formula to the output of the platforms.
