Does JMP support JDBC? Additionally, can a customer make a CSV file into a JMP file without using JMP (perfer Java)?
Hi laura,
JDBC driver based databases are not supported by JMP. Usually JDBC is meant to be better with larger data bases, where better meand faster and more robust.
That said, there might be some wrapper function available or the customer may want to involve consultants. But I'm not aware of one.

Hi Laura,
I'll bet this inquiry is related to Java API for creating JMP files? which was posted by a user from a company in Cupertino. The answer I gave there is the best answer for creating JMP data tables from Java.
A few years ago, EricHill and I helped a couple of folks from that same company get a ODBC to JDBC gateway working to get access to their JDBC data source. I don't know if the gateway that I'm linking to there is the same one from back then but I'll bet something like that will work for your customer.

Thank you Jeff! Probably the same company. Do you have any old contacts from that exchange that you can share with me privately? I can make the internal connection for them.
Here's the bridge that EricHill and I got working a few years ago: Single-Tier ODBC to JDBC Bridge.
Here's a track with contact information for the guys who were doing this.
