Implement Counter in a dataset

Hi all,

 

I have the following problem: In my dataset there is a car accelerated 10 times. Between the accelerations there is always a deceleration phase.

I managed to figure out the acceletation phases by a formula. This column now shows 1 at acceleration and 0 at all other times. For further chance to sort the data I would like to have the number of the acceleration - so everytime when accleration is recognized then a counter shall be activated. This way, I should easily detect accelerations 1-10 in my dataset.

I hope someone can help on this issue!

Your response was in a "future tense" leading me to wonder if you are expecting an additional response, with the formula for the second Counts case.  If you are waiting for such a response, the answer is that the formula you want is in the column in the data table that was attached to my last response.

this is how I would like to set it up - I am not sure how I can set this up for my dataset as I am fairly new to the program. But meanwhile I worked out something that works (circuitous).

Attached is a data table with a few different formula columns that count the Accelerations in different ways.  I was not sure what the specific details of the counting are, thus the multiple methods.

You could check if your accelleration tag is different than the row before it, something like this:
