Jordan Hiller started a similar thread for "Dr. Is In" sessions...I'm starting a thread for JMP Day events. Here are my initial thoughts:
1. Don't be afraid to ask Kathy Walker for anything. She always makes it happen when I ask.
2. If participants are going to interact with you either presenting or in one on one conversation, bring along tent cards so participants can put their first names on them since if you're like me you'll never remember people's names. Bring several black magic markers for people to write with.
3. Bring along sufficient copies of your business card for participants.
4. If possible, introduce yourself one on one as people arrive...helps establish a personal connection.
5. Consider providing hard copy output for participants of key visual aids (JMP Journals) or PowerPoint slides for participants. I've found some people furiously take notes when you are demo'ing JMP and this helps them retain your workflow, drop down selections, etc. With sufficient lead time, Kathy Walker can have them printed by SAS and shipped with the other marketing collateral items she marshals. An alternative is to ask your key customer contact to forward your key visual aids to participants and they can print locally as needed.
6. Arrive a minimum of 60 minutes before the curtain rises to set up the room, distribute marketing collateral, make sure your computer hooks to projection systems, etc.
