Forse dovrei dire che i risultati che ho ottenuto utilizzando il riepilogo su una colonna in cui esisteva un'altra colonna con un ruolo di frequenza differivano dai risultati che ho ottenuto utilizzando il riepilogo nella tabella espansa. È possibile che le varie funzioni quantiliche in JMP non utilizzino lo stesso algoritmo per gestire i legami. Quando il tempo lo consente, ricontrollerò utilizzando il riepilogo in quanto sarebbe preferibile.
Ok ecco cosa ho provato. Ho aperto i dati Fitness ed ho eseguito Riepilogo per età che mi ha fornito una tabella delle età e delle loro frequenze (N Rows che ho rinominato Freq). Ho assegnato a Freq il ruolo della frequenza. Ho eseguito Riepilogo per età nella tabella originale e l'ho eseguito di nuovo nella tabella di riepilogo. Ho scelto diversi quantili. Ho scoperto che il 25° e il 75° quantile non erano d'accordo sebbene i mezzi lo fossero. I quantili per la tabella di riepilogo erano gli stessi come se non avessi specificato una colonna di frequenza.

L'idea è semplicemente quella di creare una versione matriciale della tabella che contenga ogni valore tante volte quanto indicato dalla colonna della frequenza e quindi calcolare i quantili desiderati da quella matrice.
