Getting HTML 5 Profilers to work from Fit Model Platform

Maybe everyone else already figured this out? But just in case.

Sometimes when I save HTML from the Fit Model platform the profiler is not interactive, and sometimes it is.

In my hands, when there is a formula (e.g. a transformation) in one of the X or Y columns the resulting HTML profiler is not interactive.

If I clear the formula, leaving the transformed data, run the model, and save the report as HTML, the profiler is active as expected.

peter.bartell@jmp.com -- This is one of my favorite things about JMP. When you encounter a roadblock there is almost always another way to get there. It's one of the few programs I use on a regular basis that has this attribute. Good feedback on the new in JMP 12 features and the use case.

Byron -- what is the behavior when you try to output as a flash Profiler? Same or different? The current implementation of the interactive HTML Profiler is a 1:1 feature match with the previous Flash output. I'd be curious to see the results though, I suspect the formula in your case uses a math function that isn't supported in the HTML profiler, but when you remove the formula it can be handled by the current engine.

Let me know what you find with the flash Profiler.

I encountered this exact same phenomena two days ago for the first time, after demoing the Interactive HTML5 with Data path, probably a dozen times since version 12's release. I was completely flummoxed. How could this happen???...was what I was saying...and the curtain goes up tomorrow on a "What's New in version 12" custom demo for a group of Johnson and Johnson version 11 users scattered around the world...and they specifically asked to see this new feature! What am I gonna do now?

What I discovered with my data table (one I had admittedly never used in demo mode before and one I created) is my y variable was formula driven. I also had numerous x variables that were formula driven (random normal distributions for some, some took another variable's value and added a random normal variable to that...so I could create some correlations among the x's). If I just copied the y variable into it's own unique column with no metadata associated with it...just the native continuous values, the Profiler in the Fit Model platform became active.

I breathed a sigh of relief, and the demo killed. The two big features that were a hit were the Interactive HTML5 with data and PowerPoint interface. This Johnson and Johnson group's raison d'etre is to produce and share globally post market product safety data so anything that reduces cycle time to produce their standard and ad hoc reports and eases sharing was a good thing!

The workaround I found is this: Save the prediction formula from the model platform and open the profiler thru Graph -> Profiler; after selecting the prediction columns make sure to check the box for "Expand Intermediate Formulas". Then your HTML5 Profiler will be interactive.
