Keeping short date formatI have a data import from an Access database. Despite setting the date format in the db to short it keeps importing into JMP in the mm/dd/yyyy h:m:s format. Setting column properties doesn't keep. I don't care about it in the table, but I create a control chart by this date and the h:m:s is meaningless and blots the chart. The chart is built through a script. I tried adding a format statement to the scalebox for the x-axis, but no go. I am still relatively new to scripting. The query is external to JMP (I have not had good luck using query builder for a variety of reasons) in Access. It does not matter how I get to the short date in the chart, I just need to get there. So if there is something I can add to the query or do during the control chart build I am open to either.
Re: Keeping short date formatThank you. This worked perfectly.
Re: Keeping short date format@aselsley :
Is it fair to assume that when the data is imported from Access - a JMP data table is created ? If yes , let us call the data table "dt". I would do the following :
dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Time Series/Raleigh Temps.jmp" );
Col = Column("Month/Year");
Col << Format("m/d/y");
The format specifier can be edited based on your need .
