Feedback on New Academic Icons<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Hi folks,
What do you think of these new icons for the academic landing page (jmp.com/academic). They seem a bit big to me, but otherwise I like 'em. Thoughts, suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: Feedback on New Academic IconsThanks for the suggestions Curt. I think a few of them might be better/more descriptive than what we have, and I've forwarded these on to Aaron so he can work his magic.
Re: Feedback on New Academic IconsWe'll have a full list of resources available from the Learn JMP link, so I'm not sure if this list needs to be comprehensive. I'd be apt to aim for a shorter list here rather than a longer one. Lets see what others think.
Re: Feedback on New Academic IconsMy two cents -when I look at the icons I have to figure out what they are. So an apple on top of a book is high school stuff? Okay, maybe so. An LCD screen with a play button is a video? I guess so, the case study icon I am not sure how that says case study. The book on the other hand –for books with JMP- is pretty obvious. Tools is fine but maybe too many tools and I don’t think instructors think about applet like concept demos as tools anyway. I think they think about them as teaching or lecture aids.
The point of icons I thought was to give a visual queue to what the contents do rather than what they are. Here is more of what I would suggest,
= Case Study (icon emphasizes analyzing a document closely)
= teaching tools (icon emphasizes teaching a concept)
= videos
= one page guides
= AP Stats

Re: Feedback on New Academic IconsSimpler in what way?
Re: Feedback on New Academic IconsDo we want to add the JMP e-courses?
They are not free for all, but same holds for books.
And e-courses are essential resources, but not well known.
Re: Feedback on New Academic IconsThey are nice but can we make them simpler?
