<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Hi guys,
What do you think of the layout and structure of this new internal academic space? We think that this will be a nice vehicle for us to communicate, share, collaborate, and gather information on all internal things academic. This new space is not visible or accessible to anyone other than those on our team (and a few folks from marketing).
If you're new to the community in general, we can have a short session to walk through how to make the most effective use of it. But, if you want to explore it on your own, here are some pointers:
- Use the actions on the left-hand side to start a discussion, ask a question, write a document, upload a file, and more
- Use the search field to find academic content (unfortunately, this currently seems to search the entire JMP user community)
- Recently added content and discussions display in the middle panel
- The spaces on the right-hand side house related content. So, for example, we can put all notes, files, documents, and reports related to 2016 US Academic Conferences in this space. We've created a few as a starting point, but can have whatever we'd like to help organize our content and discussions. We all have the authority to change this.
- The projects on the left-hand side are for ongoing projects, where we may have a timeline, tasks,... Julian has created one project to show how this works.
- To add to a space or a project, use the links on the left-hand side and then use one of the "create" options that display across the top.
Hoping we can talk about this during our upcoming call. But, please your thoughts and suggestions as comments (below).
Mia
Hi Mia,
tomorrow I will introduce Paolo to this team space.
We will definitely start to upload information and use this team community very soon!
Stay tuned.... Volker
Thanks for fixing that Volker - you'll have to let me know how to do that : )
Any thougths on the layout of the pages? I didn't do much to tweak the basic template for the sub-spaces. We can always do this on the fly as needed.
Can you think of any spaces, categories or projects we need to add (for initial setup)?
Very nice! This will help us a lot!
BTW, I changed the search so that it only searches the JMP Academic Team community.
Thanks, Volker
