Transpose rows but ignore duplicatesI have been having trouble with transposing the first column values in the table below:

I want to somehow want the tables to look like this:

Since I have many such tables, I want to do this in jsl. But with the transpose function, I get all the values in 1st column (even the duplicates and the names of that column). Is there any other function I can use or any other way this can be done? Thanks a lot for the help guys!!
Re: Transpose rows but ignore duplicatesGood job. The Scripting Guide is a great place to learn JSL.
Another way is to get it from JMP itself. For analysis platforms you've probably alread discovered that you can ask JMP for the script.

For table manipulations from the Tables menu the resulting table will have a Source script attached to it.

Re: Transpose rows but ignore duplicates@Jeff_Perkinson I figured with the scripting guide. Thanks a lot Jeff.
This was easy:
dtc = dta << Split(
Split(Column 2),
Split by(Column 1);
Re: Transpose rows but ignore duplicatesHi @Jeff_Perkinson the split function gives me the output I am looking for. Can you tell me where I can get this script from? Is it possible to extract from the window? I want to have a look at the script in order to automate this process for the future. Thanks.
Re: Transpose rows but ignore duplicates@Wendy_Murphrey is right. The trick is realize that you're actually transposing the Grade column, not the Name column.
Another option is Tables->Split.
Like this:

Re: Transpose rows but ignore duplicatesTake a look at the Transpose Rows and Columns section of the documentation for details about what each field in the Transpose dialog is expecting. Once you get the table you are looking for, you can extract the script from the Source table script in the resulting table.
Hope that helps!
