Profiler documentation

Hello JMP SE Community,

One of the doc team's projects for JMP13 is to overhaul the Profilers book in the JMP documentation. As we get started working on this, it would be great to hear suggestions from you to help us focus on the parts of the book that are (or should be) of most use to users. How do you use Profilers in front of customers? How do you see customers using Profilers?

We would appreciate feedback you can give us as we go about updating the Profilers book.

Mike: If you'd like to discuss my thoughts just schedule a teleconference but briefly here's my input:

"How do you use Profilers in front of customers?" Ans: In live sales demo mode they (Prediction and Contour) are always a critical element in the DOE/Modeling workflow where we 'use' the model to assess it's utility for the practical questions at hand. At the end of each selling meeting we've got to prove to customers that there practical problems can be solved elegantly and efficiently with JMP or JMP Pro. The Profilers are the key JMP element that let's me accomplish this. It's always impactful for customers to see the Profilers in live demo mode. Showing the interactivity, the simulation extension, desirability functions and response co-optimization are always key parts of my demo. Then over to the Contour Profiler for robustness and sweet spot evaluation. The last place I often use the Profiler in live demo mode is via the embedded Profiler within the JMP Pro Model Comparison platform. Customers are always impressed regarding how easy it is to compare models with the profiler in this workflow element.

"How do I see customers using Profilers?" Ans: Having been a customer since version 1 thru 10, then I joined SAS...I used the profilers to 'put the process on aim, with minimum variability'. And then searched around that area for robustness using simulators and the Contour Profiler. Nothing has changed now that I'm on the other side of fence.
