Show Scientific notation with Char function?Would LOVE to find out how to change my bar graph labels from regular numeric notation to scientific. Example below. The data being collected is numeric/continuous in the column and is set to scientific notation in my table, but I can't seem to get the labels to show up like this. Any thoughts? I haven't found anything in the community to add this to my graphbuilder script but am also somewhat new to JMP.

Re: Show Scientific notation with Char function?I'm using JMP 13 on Windows 7. It's funny, this doesn't always happen- just for certain data tables/columns (I haven't figured out a pattern just yet). In a different table I don't have the same problem (below).

I did try to set decimals in the table from the original post, but it didn't change the label notation.
How curious!!!
Re: Show Scientific notation with Char function?Hmm, what version of JMP are you using and which platform? I created a column of data in with magnitude 1e+7 and created the bar chart both with Chart and Graph Builder in JMP versions 12, 13 and 14 and each graph's labels were displayed in Scientific notation. My OS is Windows 10.
This is just a suggestion, make sure column CFU/Seed is formatted with scientific notation and make sure that decimals are specified ( 2 or 3) are specified. I have no other suggestion.
