Writing and Localizing JMP Videos

Process to write, produce, and localize JMP tutorial/demo videos.  (including Newswire)

 

1. Write script in English, post for internal JMP review in Community. @Jeff_Perkinson @stan_koprowski
   • All videos are uploaded or referenced in a Community Discussion 
2. Determine goal language full list. @landra_c
3. Determine if JMP Interface Localization is required (i.e. Switching JMP to German in Preferences>Window Specific>Display Languages) 
4. If yes to 3.
   • Do not use on-screen English text for demo
   • In Pre-Production create the JMP live video screen grab JMP demos in one continous .mp4 (this makes it easier to replace clip and maintaining zooms and fx)
   • Also record mouse movements, then run thru and replicate in localized languages (still working this out using MouseRecorder) 
5. Render English Video Draft post for review. @landra_c
6. Revise and upload English Video version when completed to Youtube and Community with supporting Blog or Doc link.
7. Ryan sends English Transcript Meg then to our Vendor via meg_eberle0  and Passcode
8. Send translated Script to our JMP local language champion (JLLC) (i.e. Atsuko) , whom checks the quality of the direct translation. 
   • If it's not acceptable that JLLC will re-write 
9. Once that script is returned from the JLLC send to V to Tom for Voice-over noted in Midas to be recorded in as close to possible same duration. 
   • Use Midas to join localized audio with video track and return as .mp4.
   • If China or other non Youtube - accesible region , add BrightCove or Community Video.
10. If not taken care of by Midas ticket - The JMP video team (@ryandewitt) will add localized audio track to Screen Capture and upload transcript to Youtube unlisted. 
    • Reviewed again @arati_mejdal , add further SEO then made Public
