JMP Community Icons
Suggestions for updated Community Icons
- These Files are in Shared One Drive > Community Graphics > Icons
- The Shared Source Icon File has been updated - 100_pack_icons_jmp.ai
In General - Until a Community Design Refresh is required, we currently have a vector line aesthetic in the banners, adding a parameter ring connects this with our current visuals.
- Discussions is a Plural back and forth activity and should indicate that
- Blogs are about individual contributions, use 1 person that is an identical member symbol used for groups
- Discovery Summit - keep Avenir Medium Font and don't mess with current Branding (my 2 cents)
- JSL Cookbook - Same fork and spoon but added rings to indicate that its evolving
- File Exchange - Represent Multiple things, I choose the script/ data table combo because it differentiates itself from other icons.
- Community Help is not really a JMP question and should not be confused, it's really a community "tool" or guidance
- Mastering - Keep color and JMP Logo consistent to Mastering page and don't mess with current Branding (my 2 cents)
- Ideas - more than a lightbulb, maybe some radiating energy, adding rays helps communicate this

I'll probably change the groups people to be a little smaller and the discussions bubble to be the same color as the background but that's all I have.

Here are the revised Icons implementing both of your input. The source graphic and files for flight are in the Shared Community Folder if you want to edit yourselves.
Re: JMP C. Icons Graphics Media InternalI like were these are going. A few subjective comments as follows...
- Discussions - my first thought is to align the bottom two bubbles on their top edge. But then wondered why there are four bubbles (organized like a windowpane). Are they two separate coversions? Have you tried showing three integrated bubbles (with possibly some overlap)?
- Blogs - this seems like it's for editing user settings or some such.
- Discovery Summit - we DO need to keep with existing branding. However, you probably could get away with a bit of a heavier weight when using at such a smaller size.
- The "rings" for Discovery Summit and the cookbook don't do much for me. I think you can lose them.
- File Exchange - I don't dislike the icon, but not sure it says "file exchange" to me. Maybe it doesn't necessarily need to? Seems like there should to be arrows... and a file icon?
- Users Groups - icon is good. But seems a tad too big when compared to other icons. I'd like to see a bit more orange.
- Communoty Help - wrench makes me think of settings. Not help.
That's all I got at this point. Oh... also like the outside white rule around the circles.

Re: JMP C. Icons Graphics Media Internal@IanAtJMP , good feedback, let's have a short discussion maybe in-person with others, I'd like to hear some other thoughts. Is there a deadline or urgency in this particular Community Upgrade. When is your scheduled Go Live date?

I like them! Should have just had you do these from the get-go.
My initial critiques are limited to:
Blogs: I'd try removing the person or changing it because this looks a bit like the MLB logo
Discovery: Use the text from the original I have, which is consistent with the DS branding overall and lose the inner rings, which seem like unneeded complexity.
File Exchange: Looks more like Sample Data, but I really like it for that, lol!
Cookbook: Ditto on the inner rings.
Help: I disagree that this is a "tool." there is a near-universal convention that "help" is indicated by a question mark. Tool icons like this is more indicative of "settings," which is likely to confuse users.
