Context DiagramScopesystemsRe: Context Diagram--DraftHi all,
The reason I bring up quotes, is that it is a function of the process in ORION for many countries. I don't see that process going away any time, so we need to be aware of the requirements each country has, so the data is entered correctly in ORION. Kelli Jackson and I discussed a template for quotes that could be approved internationally, but I don't believe we have buy-in from all the countries at this point. While it is true that ORION does not create the quotes, we still need to account for the sales process which will include them in many instances.
Thanks!
Re: Context Diagram--DraftHello Tina and Stan,
ORION does not generate quotes. ORION has tools within it to assist calculating fees for quotes. The quote template is just that - a suggested format for presenting a quote to a customer. Each country may differ as whether or not a quote is required. In the United States, approximately half of the upgrades we process do not have quotes associated with them. In the UK, every upgrade must have a signed quote letter.

Re: Context Diagram--DraftStan, per our hallway conversation, we need to be sure to include quotes in one of the "events". Every country in Europe has different processes, in my understanding, but they are generated once an Orion Opportunity is created. Kelli Jackson had a quote template that was supposed to be for international use, but I never received confirmation that the international contracts and legal people had agreed to us using it.
Re: Context Diagram--DraftThanks Everyone,
Making good progress on identifying the systems, organizations, and people involved with the work to be studied.
I have updated the context diagram with the additional systems and modified the information flows to indicate whether they are coming into our work or leaving from our work by modifying the text direction.
Hopefully, this will make it a bit easier to interpret.

Re: Context Diagram--DraftI noticed that ENCORE is missing from this Context Document. ENCORE is the Shrinkwrap ordering system used primarily by Inside Sales to fulfill Shrinkwrap orders. I'm not sure of the connection between SF and ENCORE or if there is one. I do believe an opporutnity is created to capture the "earned credit". This is a US only system.
Re: Context Diagram--DraftHi Stan, Digital Platform is the online order store aka JMP Store. We use several terms to mean the same thing but we can change Digital Platform to "JMP Store" which is the name currently being used by SAS Development Team.
Thanks,
Kathy
Re: Context Diagram--DraftTina,
Is the online order store different from the digital platform?
Stan
Re: Context Diagram--Draft Stan - we need to also include the online order store in this diagram as a system of information. There are some changes to this application right now, but we definitely should include it in the scope of the project. Thanks!
Re: Context Diagram--DraftThanks Carol.
We will be sure to add the additional systems and information flows you mentioned to the context diagram.

Re: Context Diagram--DraftATLAS and SAS Data Warehouse should be added to this Context Warehouse as the Sales Reps use ATLAS for site history and Commissions Team use the SAS Data Mart (invcurr) from the SAS Data Warehouse for "actual invoicing information".
