If users have feedback about our new product, they can post in the wish list. But what if they want to suggest to improve our existing products, where can they post so that we can see it? Or the development team can see it.
It’s not about the questions they come across during using JMP, maybe just the suggestions.
Thank you.
A couple of resources here:
I recently wrote a blog post about how features get into the product on the external JMP Blog. This is a good post to send to customers if they want to understand our workflow and proess, generally.
For internal resources, I would suggest the following so you can guide your customers to the appropriate mechnisms for providing feedback.
Jeff Perkison has two excellent documents for how to deal with bug reports and how to deal with software enhancement requests.
Generally:
If a customer has an idea for a new feature or feature enhancement request, post it to the wish list. If they have bug reports in exisiting versions of the product, they should submit those bug reports to our technical support team, who will appropriately triage and enter defects that our development team will see.
Another options to engage with the development team more directly and provide feedback is through the Early Adopter program. The Early Adopter program is open to current JMP annual license users that are familar with JMP (not brand new users) and are willing and able to provide feedback on pre-production versions of JMP. They can enroll for this program at jmp.com/earlyadopter, and if approved will get Beta versions of JMP software to test, provide feedback on and get to see several versions of Beta software before the actual release of the next version.
